Whether you are well-seasoned in Book Clubs or have never been in one, we invite you to participate in our Monday Morning Book Club at Lynn Valley Library. We’ll supply the books; you just have to show up ready for a good discussion. This will be a group-led Book Club. The Library will help you get started and give you some guidance. Then, we'll supply the Library space and be available if you need any support.

Do you like to experiment with new recipes and chat about your experiences? Come Cook the Books with us and test out the best recipes!
 
Get together with your fellow food-enthusiasts and put a cookbook to the test! Every month we’ll select a new cookbook from the NVDPL collection and you pick the recipe (or two!) you’d like to try out. At the next meeting, you’ll share your experience with the recipe: what worked, what didn't? Did you have difficulty with any of the ingredients? What would you do next time to make it better? Did it BOMB or is it now in your Favourites File?

    Back from her tour over east, Iona will be discussing her Lane Winslow series—including the latest release: A Sorrowful Sanctuary. There will also be giveaways and an author reading.

    Iona Whishaw has been a youth worker, social worker, teacher and an award winning High School Principal, who continued with her writing throughout her working life. Receiving her Masters in Creative writing from UBC, Iona has published short fiction, poetry, poetry translation and one children's book, Henry and the Cow Problem. The Lane Winslow mystery series is her first foray into adult fiction.

Join the Armchair Detective Society: a Book Club for Mystery Lovers! This drop in book club is for anyone who loves a good mystery and who also loves talking about them!  Each month we will read the works of a specific mystery writer.

    Back from her tour over east, Iona will be discussing her Lane Winslow series—including the latest release: A Sorrowful Sanctuary. There will also be giveaways and an author reading.

    Iona Whishaw has been a youth worker, social worker, teacher and an award winning High School Principal, who continued with her writing throughout her working life. Receiving her Masters in Creative writing from UBC, Iona has published short fiction, poetry, poetry translation and one children's book, Henry and the Cow Problem. The Lane Winslow mystery series is her first foray into adult fiction.
