Teen Advisory Group

The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is a group of high school students interested in being involved with the library. We want to hear your ideas, concerns and suggestions! We meet once a month during the school year to talk about teen services and programs and do fun stuff—make buttons, buy books, create activities for younger kids, be in parades, host photo contest receptions, etc. Always new & different—and there’s snacks.

Contact TAG@nvdpl.ca for more info, and check Programs & Events for the next meeting.

Teen Volunteering and Work Experience

We offer opportunities for students in grades 10, 11 & 12  who want volunteer/work experience credits at different branches at different times during the year.  Programs offered are:

Book Buddies is one-to-one reading mentoring with younger children. Teen volunteers meet once a week with 3 or 4 younger children for individual ½ hour sessions. It usually means a commitment of 20+ hours over 8 weeks.

Tech Tutors is one-to-one technology help for adults. Teen volunteers meet once a week with 3 or 4 adults for individual ½ hour sessions. It usually means a commitment of 20+ hours over 8 weeks. You don’t have to be a tech wizard, just willing to help walk through the steps of a variety of tech-related issues.

Contact TAG@nvdpl.ca to find out more information about these programs.
