Come see this engaging presentation on salmonids in the Pacific Northwest with special guest Latash-Maurice Nahanee, Squamish Nation artist and Elder, who will discuss the importance of Salmon to Squamish culture!

The Urban Salmon Project is the first photographic documentation of the salmonids in the urban environment. Project leader and photographer Fernando Lessa will present one of the most amazing displays of natural beauty, happening just in our backyard.Books will be available for purchase.

About the Presenters

Fernando Lessa is an “Outdoor storyteller”, drawing from his passion for outdoors sports, rivers, and oceans. With a Biology Degree and Master’s Degree in Photography, he specializes in documenting the relationship between humans and mother nature.

Squamish Nation artist and Elder Latash-Maurice Nahanee has worked as a professional artist for the past 20 years. Latash has a lifelong passion for all aspects of culture: art, singing and dancing, hunting, fishing, and ceremonies.
