Capilano Universe: A Meaningful Connection with Nature

Join us for another season of the Capilano Universe Lecture series!

Many of us have experienced a connection to nature, or the universe, but what is the essence of such a connection? Bridget interviewed Capilano University's Outdoor Recreation Management (OREC) graduates to explore their relationship with nature and to suggest how this research can help us develop meaningful curriculum through outdoor experiences.

Bridget McClarty has been exploring wild spaces as a natural historian, outdoor educator and experiential explorer for over two decades. She currently teaches in the schools of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management at Capilano University. Bridget is currently completing graduate research at the University of British Columbia, and her interests include land-based pedagogy, transdisciplinary learning models and connectivity with nature.
