Image Research & Visual Storytelling with Kate Bird

Enjoy a captivating and informative talk on the art of visual storytelling by librarian and author Kate Bird!

Kate will discuss her process and experience researching images for a wide range of visual storytelling projects in an illustrated presentation. The projects include research for her three published books of newspaper photographs, guest-curating two large photography exhibitions at the Museum of Vancouver, and ongoing research and work on a variety of personal projects.  

About Kate:
A news research and photo librarian at The Vancouver Sun and The Province for twenty-five years, Kate helped manage the newspapers’ vast photograph collection. She is the author of the three books pictured above as well as the searcher for numerous other books, including Shelley Fralic’s Making Headlines: 100 Years of The Vancouver Sun, which won the 2013 Bill Duthie Booksellers' Choice Award.
