Learning Joy: Mental Health Hygiene & Writing Your Own Story

We learn to read, to brush our teeth, eat well & exercise, but have you learned how to take care of our brain and emotions?

From neuroplasticity—”you can grow your brain at any age!”—to creativity, to the joy of goals, this five-day course will teach you tools, tips, and implementable skills for living a life with increased joy and mental wellness. We’ll also discuss recommended reading to help you on your journey to learn joy. Join us for connection and laughter!

Written and taught by NVDPL librarian Lorna, pictured here in the Alps! Lorna has been reading about brains and mental health wellness for 15 years after recovering from major depression herself.

This meeting will take place on Zoom. What you’ll need: A computer with microphone (or headphones) and webcam for Zoom; or your smartphone/tablet. We will email you the Zoom link in advance of the event. We will be using Zoom Meetings, so your mic and video will be turned off when you enter the event.
