NaNoWriMo Write-In Sessions

Dedicate some time to your writing project and drop in to Capilano Library for some creative concentration. Being in a room with other people working hard at writing can often feel inspiring!

We will provide: motivation, wifi, power outlets for your laptop, and a quiet space for you to work on your project.

Write a novel over the course of 30 days! Yes, you can do it! Really!

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and NVDPL is here to support would-be-novelists’ dreams. How does it work? NaNoWriMo helps you start and continue the habit of daily writing. Throughout November, you can privately or publicly track how many words you write each day at nanowrimo.org. It only takes writing 1,667 words each day to equal a 50,000 word novel — that’s roughly the length of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men!

The goal of NaNoWriMo is not to write the “perfect” novel, but to get you to write every day and try to finish the first draft of a novel. NVDPL will help you achieve this with a series of workshops and write-in sessions to make your writing habit a reality. NaNoWriMo is about inspiration and personal accountability, but it is not writing help or a writing critique workshop.

No registration required. Masks will be required to attend a write-in. Call 604-987-4471, ext. 8175 for more information.
