Picturing Transformation, Nexw-áyantsut: An Evening with Nancy Bleck and Chief Bill Williams

Join Chief Bill Williams and photographer Nancy Bleck for a presentation on their book "Picturing Transformation: Nexw-áyantsut", the incredible story of the Ut'Sam Witness Project, which was successful in saving the forests of Sims Creek and restoring the area to its traditional name - Nexw-áyantsut (Place of Transformation).

They will talk about their journey within the project, and discuss the book, which pays homage to the power that people with strong vision and a common purpose can play in honouring tradition, safeguarding land and changing policy. It is a lesson in the possibilities for resolving conflict peacefully, now and in the future.

Nancy's photographic work,  spanning 15 years, was created with film and analogue processes, using large format and medium format cameras. She continues her inquiry of processes of change, community, and climate justice, working with the Tsleil Waututh Nation on a project titled, "Children of Tomorrow", which in the German language translates to "Kinder Morgen".
