Saturday Afternoon Cinema: I Am Not Your Negro

In honour of Black History month, we begin this new film discussion series with I Am Not Your Negro. This documentary offers an incendiary snapshot of James Baldwin's crucial observations on American race relations -- and a sobering reminder of how far we've yet to go. Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson. Released in 2017.

We will be meeting at 2pm to discuss the film, which you will need to watch on your own time beforehand. All movies are streaming for FREE on NVDPL’s movie streaming service Kanopy. This service is available to anyone residing in North Vancouver District.  Please note that your access to Kanopy is limited to 4 films per calendar month.  Link to Kanopy information and instructions: https://nvdpl.ca/accessing-kanopy
