Walking into the Past: Making History Accessible Online

Commemorate the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day (November 11, 1918) by attending this special exploration of archival material connecting the Great War with North Vancouver. Meet us at Lynn Valley Library at either 11:00am or 1:00pm, and an Archivist from NVMA will lead us over to the NVMA for a hands-on exploration of this historical material.

Two sessions to choose from:

  • 11:00am—12:00pm
  • 1:00pm—2:00pm

Discover how the materials created by WWI veteran Walter Draycott are being used to explore military history and to tell new stories about past events. Learn how the NVMA is using digital technologies to increase access to historical photographs, diaries and drawings. Examine the Great War Chronicle website (greatwarchronicle.ca) and archival objects to understand how digital tools support new approaches to historical research and exhibition. More info at  nvma.ca.

No registration required. Meet at the Remembrance Day display in the Lynn Valley Library lobby.
