Library Code of Conduct
Library Code of Conduct
Welcome to the North Vancouver District Public Library. Everyone is welcome here.
Visitors, patrons, employees, and volunteers have the right to enjoy a Library environment that’s respectful, courteous, safe, and that supports life-long learning.
To that end, while in the Library, I agree that:
-
I am respectful of the people around me and will not engage in disruptive or illegal behaviour.
-
I acknowledge that we’re all different and have different tastes and opinions.
-
I am respectful of Library property and policies.
-
I am responsible for my belongings and my children while at the Library.
-
I refrain from bringing my pets (except for guide dogs) into the Library, and I leave my method of transportation outside the Library.
-
I understand that the Library’s employees have the right to work in an environment that is free from discriminatory harassment or personal harassment in any interactions connected to work with the Library.
-
I am considerate of my surroundings and follow health-related guidelines posted in the Library.
-
I understand that if I choose not to follow this Code of Conduct, consequences may include being asked to leave the Library.
We are all responsible for upholding this code and keeping our Library welcoming for all. You can learn more about NVDPL policies online.
