Fees for Lost or Damaged Material

We don't charge late fines but replacement charges and processing fees apply for items that are lost or damaged. Lost charges are applied at 28 days past the due date.


Payments for lost or damaged materials are non-refundable. If you have questions about items that may be lost, please speak with staff about your options.  Do not pay for lost materials unless you are confident that they will not be located.


If materials are not returned within 60 days once they are considered ‘Lost’, charges will not be removed from your account. 


If you have an outstanding balance on your account from a lost or damaged item, you can conveniently pay your fines online.

Replacing Your Library Card

If you've lost your NVDPL card, come see us at the Circulation Desk to get a replacement for just $3. Alternatively, you can download our mobile app to get a digital copy of your card!


If your card is worn, you can bring it in and we'll replace your card for free as long as you return it!
