Loan Periods
NVDPL has eliminated late fines! You will not be charged as long as materials are returned in good condition by the due date.
Familiarize yourself with the loan periods below and make sure to bring your material back on time so that others can enjoy them!

Renewals
We have an automatic renewal system that may be able to extend the length of your loan on eligible materials as long as no one is waiting for them and they haven't reached the maximum number of renewals (2). You will receive an email confirmation of which items are renewed and you can bring them back before the new due date! Additionally, materials like Fast Track DVDs and Speed Reads will not be renewed. Please ask staff if you have questions!
Overdue Reminders and Replacement Charges
If you provide our staff with an email address for your account, we will send you notification on the day your materials are due, when they are 8 days overdue, and when they are 15 days overdue. Please note that if materials are kept 28 days overdue, you will be charged replacement retail cost plus processing fees to cover the costs of ordering in any replacements and preparing them for lending.
Temporary Account Suspension at 14 Days Overdue
Borrowing privileges will be temporarily suspended if library material is overdue by 14 days. Remember, you can Renew material if no one is waiting! Please chat with staff about your options for borrowing if you have overdue material on your account.
Going on vacation?
If you anticipate being away when materials are due, please speak with Circulation Staff at the time of your initial check-out so we can make sure you have the time you need with your materials. Extended Loans are not available for Fast Tracks, Speed Reads, or high-demand items. Don't forget to suspend your hold so you don't miss them while you are away.
Please Note: If you have more than $5.00 in charges, you will not be able to borrow or renew items. Fees can be paid online, at the self-checkout terminals or at the Circulation desk in the library.
