What happens next?

We will review your suggestion and select material as guided by our Collection Policy. Please note that due to the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to notify you regarding purchase decisions.

Suggest a Title

NVDPL regularly purchases bestselling authors and popular media, and we’re proud to offer a diverse and balanced collection of material to our community!

If you are looking for a published title that we don’t currently have on our shelves, we welcome your suggestions to add to our collection

How does it work?

  • We welcome suggestions for titles not currently in our collection, available for purchase, and already published.

  • We consider suggestions for material published within 2 years and of general interest to our community.

  • Library staff select and purchase bestselling authors and popular titles– please check our catalogue regularly and place holds.

  • Please note that content produced by streaming services are often not available for purchase on DVD or Blu-ray.

  • If you're looking for out of print items or older titles, please use our Interlibrary Loans service.

  • For ebooks and e-audiobooks, use the “Notify Me” feature in Libby.

  • If you’re a North Shore author/creator, learn more about the North Shore Authors Collection.
