Need help choosing materials? We can provide personalized recommendations!

Our professional staff are happy to recommend titles for materials that are current available on our shelves. We will help you choose books, movies, TV shows, or music. With so much to choose from, we have something for every age, taste and interest!

It’s simple: tell us what you like to read, watch and listen to. Library staff will respond within a few days with some great options chosen just for you.

Frequently Asked Questions Library Takeout

  • Our staff are experts at matching patrons of all ages with just-right titles! Fill out the form above and our staff will contact you with next steps. ​We do our best to respond to order requests within 72 hours. 

  • Once we notify you that your order is ready, we will check it out to your account, put it in a paper bag, and put in on our Holds shelves in alphabetical order by the last name of the person who has placed the order. If it is in a paper bag, it is already checked out and ready to go, so you will not need to use the Self-Check machine or wait in line for staff assistance at the Circulation counter.

    Please note: If you are also picking up regular Holds during your visit, these items are NOT on your account yet and you will need to make sure you check them out before you leave.

  • Yes! Please ensure the person coming to pick up your order knows to look for it under your last name. Remember that the library cardholder to whom the items are checked out is responsible for the materials and will be charged for any loss or damage.

  • No problem! Our library staff are experts at selecting materials based on your preferences. Whether you are looking for some picture books for the kids or some engaging mysteries for yourself, we can help you find great content.

    Place an order using the form above, or call the library, choose the option to speak to a librarian for assistance.

  • No, but you are welcome to send a delegate in the form of a friend, neighbour or family member to pick up your order on your behalf! Just make sure you tell your pickup person to look for your order under your last name. 

    You can also check out Accessible Services for individuals who have difficulty reading print materials and those with physical disabilities.
