NVDPL regularly purchases bestselling authors and popular media, and we’re proud to offer a diverse collection of material to our community! If you are looking for a published title that we don’t currently have on our shelves, we welcome your suggestions to add to our collection.
How does it work?
- We welcome suggestions for titles not currently in our collection, available for purchase, and already released.
- We consider suggestions for material published within 2 years and of general interest to our community.
- Library staff select and purchase bestselling authors and popular titles– please check our catalogue regularly and place holds.
- Please note that content produced by streaming services are often not available for purchase on DVD or Blu-ray.
- If you're looking for out of print items or older titles, please use our Interlibrary Loans service.
- For ebooks and e-audiobooks, use the "Notify Me" feature in Libby. Learn more here.

To Suggest a Title
Step 1: check our catalogue to see if the library already has a copy of the item.
Step 2: if we don’t have the item and it meets the criteria above, fill out the Suggest a Title form below.
What happens next?
We will review your suggestion and select material as guided by our Collection Policy. Please note that due to the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to notify you regarding purchase decisions.
