Trail Tales: Fairmont Park

Join us for an outdoor reading adventure at Trail Tales! We’re posting the pages of a story throughout local parks and trails, creating an interactive literacy experience for families! Join a children’s librarian as we walk through the story, or venture out on your own to read the story as you explore the park or trail.

Join us at Bridge Brewing to hear the authors of the picture book The Grizzlies of Grouse Mountain: The True Adventures of Coola and Grinder talk about our very own local grizzlies who live on Grouse Mountain!

Authors Shelly Hrdlitschka and Rae Schidlo together with illustrator Linda Sharp will give an engaging talk about grizzlies, and Cooler and Grinder in particular. Adults over 19 can enjoy a cold local brew but readers of every age can partake in the talk and Bridge’s delicious menu items. Books will be available for purchase. Seating is limited and may be standing room only. If you’d like food or drinks, please arrive between 7:00pm-7:30pm.

Living with Wildlife on the North Shore

Join us as we learn more about the wildlife that shares the North Shore with us!

This presentation, led by the North Shore Black Bear Society’s Luci Cadman, will be covering basic bear biology, behaviour and how to respond in an encounter, along with the basics on coyotes, bobcats and cougars. 

The North Shore Black Bear Society, a non-profit organization, works in partnership with local and regional governments and other groups involved with black bears and bear attractant issues.
