Curious about 3D printing? Have you heard the term, but not sure what it means, how it works, who it impacts?

Join a member of our StoryLab team for an informational session on the basics of 3D printing! Learn about the technologies, the histories, the implications, and limitations of the 3D printing movement.  

Whether you have a project in mind with no clue where to start, or are curious what others are doing with 3D printing, come learn and give your input on what you’d like 3D printing to look like at the library!

MOOC: The Story of Mathematics

Join us for this massive online open course (MOOC) about the Story of Mathematics.

From economics to algorithms, it is impossible to think of a part of our world that isn’t influenced by mathematics.  But what is the human history behind the numbers? From Plato to Pythagoras, Descartes to Newton, Oxford University Professor, Marcus du Sautoy, investigates the great minds that have used mathematics to bring pattern and order to our chaotic world.This 4-part series examines key mathematical ideas and their influence on today's science, technology, and culture.

Donate your good quality books, puzzles, board games, or CDs/DVDs to the Friends of the Library in advance of their Book Sale.

Lynn Valley Village Community Room (1277 Lynn Valley Road) 
 
Bring the items you wish to donate the Community Room for assessment. Only materials that meet the donation guidelines will be accepted. 
 
NOTE: the Friends of the Library can only accept donations during the posted time. Please do not bring material to the sale. If you are unable to make it on October 17, follow the library's guidelines for donating materials. Before bringing materials in, call or speak with staff if you are unsure!

 

Accepted Materials 

  • Good quality used books for all ages
  • Gently used and complete puzzles and board games
  • CD/DVD & Blu-rays

Not Accepted 

  • Damaged, mouldy, yellowed, odorous or marked material
  • Magazines, including National Geographic
  • Textbooks
  • VHS video cassettes
  • Computer CD Roms
  • Outdated computer books

 

Free underground parking, elevator access to the Community Room. Please note, while we will do our best to help, we cannot guarantee assistance from your parking space to the Community Room. Please bring support if you need it!
