Tea with a Youth Outreach Worker

Need some mental health support or just someone to talk to?

Drop in to chat with our Youth Outreach from North Shore Neighborhood House, who can offer friendly support and mental health resources.

This drop-in event takes place in the teen area of the Lynn Valley library and is for anyone grades 6-12.

Teen Resume Workshops

Getting ready to apply for a summer job? Come to our resume workshops to learn how to make a resume, how to write a cover letter, and how to get references.

This is a great workshop for people who are making their first resumes or trying to figure out how to put their experience from school and sports onto paper for their employers. You can attend each session on its own, but we’d recommend attending all three sessions to learn about resumes, cover letters, and references. Please bring a laptop or device to write on, if you have one.

The teen resume workshop is for grades 7-12.

Movies at Capilano: Just Mercy

Movies at Capilano: Portrait of a Lady on Fire

France, 1770. Marianne, a painter, is commissioned to do the wedding portrait of Héloïse, a young woman who has just left the convent. Héloïse is a reluctant bride to be and Marianne must paint her without her knowing. She observes her by day, to paint her secretly. Soon both women find that they cannot deny an attraction to one another.  A Cannes film festival winner!
