The Bushman’s Lair: On the Trail of the Fugitive of the Shuswap by Paul McKendrick
Tuesday, October 5 at 7:00pm

A fascinating deep-dive into the mysterious true story of Canadian fugitive John Bjornstrom, who escaped prison and avoided RCMP for two years. Author Paul McKendrick has written a stranger-than-fiction story full of twists and surprises about a character who frequently made national headlines until his death in 2018. Reminiscent of John Vaillant's The Golden Spruce and Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, this fascinating portrait of a far-from-ordinary fugitive makes for a page-turning read. Find a copy.

Bio: Paul McKendrick lives in Canmore, AB. This is his first book.
