Join North Shore libraries for a refreshing summer series with local authors and local brews!
Author and activist Colin Stein will be at Streetcar Brewing (123A 1st St. E.) for readings — and some behind-the-scenes stories — from Vanbikes: Vancouver's Bicycle People and the Fight for Transportation Change, 1986-2011 (An Oral History).
Bio: Colin Stein was born and raised in Toronto, and spent much of his childhood reading, drawing, collecting comic books, and being moved by the holy trinity of urban transportation – bicycles, transit, and walking. Following almost 20 years in the professional sports, insurance, technology, and healthcare sectors, Colin discovered cycling advocacy; he has since held a variety of consultant, staff, and volunteer roles for BEST, the British Columbia Cycling Coalition, and HUB Cycling. Colin self-published Vanbikes: Vancouver's Bicycle People and the Fight for Transportation Change (1986-2011), in 2022. He currently lives and works in Vancouver.
This series is presented in partnership by the North Vancouver City Library, North Vancouver District Library, and West Vancouver Memorial Library.
