Event

Caring for Critters with author Nicholas Read

Based on his recently published book Caring for Critters, Nicholas Read will speak both about the work done on behalf of wildlife by the Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley and the fragile relationship between B.C. wildlife and its human population. The Critter Care centre houses bears from the North Shore, and Read will speak about these bears, the “problem coyotes” in Stanley Park, and proposed deer culls on Vancouver Island. Read will speak about human/wildlife conflict and how we can work towards co-existence.

Nicholas Read is a retired journalist and journalism instructor and the author of twelve books about B.C. wildlife and the environment.  He is currently working on his 13th book, a diary of a year in the life of the Great Bear Rainforest which he is writing with the executive director of Pacific Wild, Ian McAllister.
