Kayla Zielke is a Fisheries Health Technician who works for the Pacific Salmon Foundation, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of Pacific salmon populations in British Columbia and the Yukon. Kayla is a passionate outdoors enthusiast who has been living on Vancouver Island for the past 7 years.

Kayla’s  job involves a large portion of fieldwork, which has given her the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful areas in the region. She also works closely with First Nations communities to monitor aquaculture sites and hatcheries, and study disease and infective agents that are impacting Pacific salmon in British Columbia.
