White Cane Week

White Cane Week, February 3-February 9, is an initiative of the Canadian Council of the Blind, which was founded in 1944 by war veterans and schools for the blind. This year marks the 75th anniversary.

On February 4 come and help celebrate this milestone at Park Royal Shopping Centre (South Mall, Centre Court). We'll be at a special open house showcasing services, resources and products that are available to people living with sight loss alongside the Canadian Council of the Blind and other North Shore libraries. All who attend will be entered into a draw to win a $100 Park Royal gift card (courtesy of Park Royal mall) and attendees living with sight loss can be entered into a draw to win a Google Mini (courtesy of Get Together With Technology and CCB).

To learn more about the library resources available for people with print disabilities- including audiobooks on MP3 CDs, e-audiobook resources from NNELS and other online sites, Large Print Collections, Home Library Service, and more- drop by the displays at your local library during White Cane Week, or chat with staff on your next visit!
