Writing Workshop for Teens: Traditional Publishing

Traditional Publishing

Writing a manuscript is a massive accomplishment, but what happens next? From agents to editors, query letters to royalties, and cover art to copyedits, the world of publishing is full of surprises.

This one-hour workshop covers local author Lianne Oelke's traditional publishing journey that transformed her YA novel, NICE TRY, JANE SINNER from a chaotic Word doc to a polished hardcover in stores across Canada and the US. A Q & A session will follow, with tips and advice for any teen who has dreamed of seeing their name on bookshelves!

Registration Required. Register online, call 604-984-0286 ext. 8144, or email tag@nvdpl.ca

Bio: Lianne loves writing about and for teenagers who make questionable decisions while trying to figure out their place in the world. When she's not writing or working in the film industry, Lianne loves to garden, race in triathlons (slowly, but it still counts!), and explore the trails around her North Vancouver home.
